Objective:

After reading the article provided to me by my professor on the dos and don’ts of blogging, I will relay that information in a clear way.

Dos of blogging:

Be relatable- When blogging you should always try and be relatable to the audience in which you are trying to communicate with. This insures that a connection is made and that you can be personable enough to relay a message and have people listen.

Find a focus in your blog- You should always have a reason you are blogging. That reason can be personal, or even informational. When you blog it should not be all over the place and not have one focus point. Even if you are just blogging about your day in general, there should be some point of the story or meaning behind it.

Don’ts of blogging:

Grammatical errors- You should always double check your blog and make sure that no errors are made. This insures that you are seen as knowledgeable and are trusted in your writing.

Limiting your blog length- When you set forth on a new blog, you should never cut yourself short. If anything you should set a word count goal and try to achieve it. It does not matter how long the blog is as long as your focus does not change and you get your view across.

Application:

In the real world you might be chosen to create a blog for a company, or even be in charge of up keeping a social media account. All of the points above can be applied to real work situations that will be present when creating any kind of web page for any reason. This etiquette will carry you through the many projects and obstacles you encounter in a real world job scenario.
